Raiders of the Lost Archive

Raiders is cryptic treasure hunt which takes place in the V&A museum. The game runs most weekends during the afternoon with occasional weekday private games. We have three roles available in this game, listed below.

Professor Coffinberry (MC) (£45 per game)

This part is an understudy role, so crew spots will be available from time to time, rather than every week.

Role

  • 30-50 year old British curator.

  • Male or female.

  • Master of Ceremonies role: giving start and end game speeches

  • Meeting players to give them advice and hints.

  • Scholarly.

  • Academic dress style

  • An adventurer.

Responsibilities

The MC will need to have a good understanding of the game and web app. The role includes:

  • Giving the start and end game briefings

  • Improvising with players

  • Answering player questions

  • Supporting the Stage Manager

Person Spec

Essential

  • Ability to learn lines

  • A big voice and personality

  • Acting experience

  • Good organisation and time keeping

  • An interest in working on live events

  • A creative, fun and playful personality

Useful:

  • Available during the week

  • A reasonable level of physical fitness

  • A background in games/immersive or improvised theatre

  • Some experience in acting/improvisation

  • First Aid training

How it works

  • This is a casual role

  • Approx 3.5 hours each time

  • Private games on weekdays, public games on weekends

You can pick whichever games you like - but be aware that we can't guarantee any particular amount of work, since it depends on the number of games we end up running and how many people want to crew them!

 

Cartwright: (£35 per game)

Archivist and assistants to Professor Coffinberry.

Role

  • Ideally 30s+

  • male or female

  • Scholarly

  • The society archivist. he/she is obsessed with the society, and is chatty and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities

  • Checking the rooms and objects that we use in the game before the game starts to make sure that they are open/in place

  • Patrolling the museum through the game to assist and keep an eye on players.

  • Assisting the stage manager with any extra jobs

  • Improvising with players and the other actors.

  • Cartwright should have a good working knowledge of the game so as to be able to assist players.

Person Spec

Essential

  • Good organisation and time keeping

  • An interest in working on live events

  • A creative, fun and playful personality

Useful:

  • Available during the week

  • A background in games/immersive or improvised theatre

  • Some experience in acting/improvisation

  • First Aid training

Casey: (£25 per game)

  • Society member.

  • 30s+ playing age

  • male or female

Responsibilities

  • Watching bags through the game

  • Improvising with other actors

  • Answering player questions
